Hope Shining National Launch - September 25, 2008
Safe Horizon officially launched Hope Shining with a press conference on September 25, 2008. Hosted by actress and Safe Horizon board member Stephanie March, the press conference brought together key experts, volunteers and survivors to reinforce the importance of knowing the signs of child abuse and taking action against the abuse.

Hope Shining Launch New Orleans - October 2, 2008
Following the New York launch, we partnered with the New Orleans Child Advocacy Center to continue the national launch of Hope Shining and to release the New Orleans results from the "Bystander and Child Abuse" survey. The results were released on October 2 at a joint press conference with the New Orleans CAC and representatives from local Child Protective Services offices.

The New Orleans CAC will be conducting a public training on child abuse awareness on December 4, 2008. To RSVP for the training, email SLeBlanc@chnola.org or call 504-896-9237.

Hope Shining Launch Houston - October 7, 2008
Less than a week after the New Orleans launch event, we traveled to Houston to partner with the Houston Children's Assessment Center for a third press conference, this time releasing the Houston results from the "Bystander and Child Abuse" survey. The Houston press conference was also held jointly with the Houston CAC and local Child Protective Services representatives.

Hope Shining Launch Los Angeles - October 19, 2008
The culmination of Hope Shining's national launch was a Los Angeles party organized by Hope Shining Alliance Member Joyful Heart Foundation, founded by actress and Safe Horizon board member Mariska Hargitay. The event toasted the work of Joyful Heart and Hope Shining and looked forward to raising more awareness in the months and years to come.
